Ruwenzori National Park lies on the east side of the western African rift valley.
The Park includes most of the center and eastern half of the Ruwenzori Mountains. It has waterfalls, lakes and glaciers. The Park is famous for mountaineering, climbing, trekking and hiking safaris. Ruwenzori national parks wildlife population depends on the parks elevation with animals including elephants, chimpanzees, hyrax, Ruwenzori duiker, and Ruwenzori turaco.
