Udzungwa Mountains

Udzungwa mountains are mountain ranges in south central Tanzania.

Udzungwa mountains are part of the Eastern arc mountains and are home to diverse plants and animals. The mountains are the home to the Hehe people and its name comes from the Hehe language “Wadzungwa”. The mountain intercepts moist winds from Indian ocean and receives more rainfall than the surrounding lowlands. The mountains are home to many wildlife such as elephants.
