Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park is situated in the Manyara region of Tanzania.

The name “Tarangire” originates from the Tarangire river that flows through the heart of the park. The river is the most dominant feature in the park and acts as the primary source of fresh water for wildlife during the dry season.  There are also a number of swamps that dry up during the dry season. Tarangire National Park is popular for its large herds of elephants of up to 300 members per head. There are also impalas, elands, buffalos, giraffes, Thompson’s gazelle. A few black rhinos are also spotted I the park. Leopards, lions, cheetahs and hyenas are popular in the park. There are over 500 species of birds spotted making the park a good place for bird watching. Visitors get to experience night game drives as well as balloon safari.
