Selous National Reserve

Selous Game reserve is a protected area in southern Tanzania. In 1982, it was designated as a UNESCO world heritage site.

One of the best features within the reserve is the Rufiji River which flow into the Indian Ocean and the Ruaha River, which together form a river delta. Rufiji river has a large number of crocodiles and hippos. The reserve hosts diverse wildlife such as the African bush elephants, black, rhino, hippo, lion, buffalo, giraffe and Zebra. Since 2005, Selous reserve is considered a lion conservation unit. Birds enthusiasts will also have a great experience as the park is home to over 400 different bird species population.
