Akagera National Park

Akagera National Park is a protected area in eastern Rwanda.

The Park is named after river Kagera which flows along its eastern boundary. Its landscape is dominated by grass, cactus, shrubs and forest cover. At Akagera National Park, you can enjoy game viewing during game drive and boat rides. Visitors may spot wildlife like elephants, lions, zebras, giraffes, several antelopes, monkeys and bush babies. The shallow waters of lake Ihema are home to crocodiles and hippos. Birder also get to have a great experience since the park is largely populated by bird species.
