Located on a range of hills that form the western limits of Africa’s Great Rift Valley,
the lodge offers spectacular views over the vastness of Africa.
The lodge also overlooks Lake Nakuru and its surrounding National Park, one that is a paradise for bird watchers and wildlife lovers alike. Lake Nakuru National Park is mainly a wooded and bushy grassland with a wide ecological diversity and characteristic habitats that range from the lake waters to the escarpment and ridges. Situated in the Rift Valley, Lake Nakuru is the heart of a small national park, best known for its volcanic scenery and enormous populations of flamingos.
Sightings of rhinos, lions and other animals are also possible. At 188 square kilometers, Lake Nakuru National Park is a relatively small, fenced wildlife reserve, of which around a third is taken up by the lake itself. The area is most famous for its enormous populations of flamingos which nest along the shoreline. Depending on the season, there can be hundreds of thousands, possible even millions of these birds on view. The park is also renowned for its populations of rare black rhinos, white rhinos and Rothschild giraffes. Predators including lions, leopards and cheetahs are also present and seen with reasonable regularity.
